Nightingale Hammerson is an independent charity and a leading specialist in the care of older people. We have served the Jewish community since 1840. We have two care homes, Nightingale House in Clapham and Hammerson House in East Finchley.
The Role
As Assistant Practitioner you will be a pivotal part of our nursing team, delivering individualised care that supports the well-being of our residents and their families, under the guidance of our registered nurses.
What will your typical day involve?
In this role, you will be tasked with providing evidence-based care, which includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans for our residents, ensuring the highest standards of care are consistently maintained.
You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to collaborate effectively across departments. As part of your responsibilities, you'll oversee Household HCAs and Senior HCAs, prioritising workloads and managing resources efficiently.
Additionally, you'll act as an advocate for residents, ensuring their nutritional, hydration, and personal hygiene needs are met with the utmost dignity. A commitment to professional development is vital, as you'll be expected to continually develop your clinical skills and knowledge, staying informed of the latest advancements in palliative care and engaging in ongoing education and training opportunities.

Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate for this role must be a Nursing Associate registered with the NMC at band 4, which is essential, and having a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification would be considered desirable.
Essential to this position is previous experience in a similar role or as a Nurse Associate. The role demands excellent clinical skills, proficiency in electronic record systems, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively within a team. These skills are crucial in ensuring that high standards of care are consistently delivered, reflecting our commitment to excellence and the well-being of our residents.

Hours
37.5 hours a week on a rota, with a mixture of days, nights and weekends.
Salary Scale
