Nightingale Hammerson cares for over 250 residents, tailoring our approaches within our residential, nursing, dementia, respite, and palliative care. As a HR Advisor you will offer advice on policies, processes, rewards, and employee relations (ER) issues, working in close collaboration with our HR Team.
What will your typical day involve?
A typical day in this role will involve a variety of tasks centred around supporting the HR function of the organisation. You'll start by developing and updating HR policies, ensuring they align with the latest legal standards and best practices. A significant part of your day will be dedicated to managing absence records and working closely with managers to minimise absenteeism, alongside participating in internal investigations and hearings as needed.
You'll also be involved in the performance management process, which includes setting goals for team members, conducting regular check-ins, and overseeing performance reviews. In addition to these responsibilities, you'll provide guidance on HR policies and procedures and maintain the HR intranet pages to ensure they are up to date.
Recruitment and onboarding are also key aspects of your role, where you'll assist in filling challenging positions and managing the induction process for new employees. Moreover, you'll be ensuring that HR processes and systems are effective and efficient.
Your day might also include contributing to important business projects, aligning with the organisation’s strategy, and ensuring the HR Business Continuity Plan is regularly reviewed and kept up to date. Each day will be diverse, encompassing various aspects of human resources management and contributing to the overall strategy and efficiency of the HR department.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate should have a graduate-level education and be CIPD qualified or have relevant experience. We're seeking someone with proven experience as an HR Advisor or in a similar HR role, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of HR functions.
Essential skills include experience in managing complex HR processes, a deep knowledge of UK employment law, and proficiency in HR best practices.
Experience in handling Employee Relation Cases, particularly in Absence Management, is crucial. Experience in supporting performance management processes such as goal-setting and performance reviews is desirable. Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including Word and Excel, is essential for the role.
